Hi
I am successfully using the comments plugin but my customer has requested that I add a function to reply to the comment from within cmsB.
Currently, as i understand it, the admin has to login in and post a comment in the same way as the website user does - through the front of the website.
Is there a simple way to set things up so that the admin can reply/post a comment in the Website Comments section in cmsB. With the default setup your can modify existing comments but not create new ones.
Thanks
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
It's fairly straight forward to make it so you can create comments in the CMS, but your customer will have to manually add the internal fields when creating a comment. They'd just have to set these up the same as the comment they're replying to.
To make it so you can create comments in the CMS, go to Section Editors -> Website Comments (Modify) -> Advanced (Tab at the top of the page). Then un-check the Disable Add checkbox and save.
This will add the create button back to the Website Comments section.
If you'd like something more user friendly for adding comments, if you send an e-mail to consulting@interactivetools.com we can look into building a custom system for it.
Cheers,
Greg
