Hello,

On my customers old site their contact page was called

contact-wallpaper-shop.php

I am in the process of building a new site and want to call the contact page

contact.php

thus I use the perma Link. but it does not seem to work.

I have added some 50 odd dynamic pages to permalinks so far and all work correct (many of the 50 other pages have no content as yet but the redir works as required)

see attached image perma-error2.png

but when I added the contact page see image perma-error3.png

the page is not redirected. I have checked my siteroot etc but all seems fine, also by the other 50 odd pages working seems to prove it works. Can you help and tell me as to why the contact-wallpaper-shop.php page is not redirecting to contact.php.

Hi Kenny,

We're testing a new Permalinks beta right now:

Can you email me FTP and CMS login details, as well as a link to this forum post to: dave@interactivetools.com (don't post passwords to the forum).

I can make sure your site works with the latest release of the plugin and fix the issue you posted if it still occurs.

Thanks!

Hi Dave,
I see you have updated the permalinks to the newest version but now when I try add something I get the following error.

"Couldn't find filepath for permalink 'Customer Source Url' of 'mypagename.php'

Check that file exists and 'Website Root Directory' is correct under settings."

regards

Just a quickie,
Should I totally delete/deactivate the older permalinks. load the new permalinks, and re introduce them from scratch.

see.

I see my website root as

/home/myspecificnameforsite/public_html/

were I to reset the site root to

/home/myspecificnameforsite/

rather then also include the public_html dir would that help things.

I just want to make it so it works correct from the start. an also that when I do things in the future I am not met with same issue.

thanks very much,

cheers

Hi everyone.

I've been working with Twocans through support and want to post quick update here for anyone else following along.

We figured out that the issue was spelling related. Basically, the server path supplied was misspelled.  It's a fairly innocuous kind of thing too as it as only one missing character so not the most noticeable.

If you are entering permalinks directly into the database through plugin (ie: not saving a record and having it auto generate a permalink) and get the error we got here, make sure the spelling of the file name matches the file name on your server.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
