Plugin idea: "Save Record Reminder"

By Deborah - March 14, 2017

I find that when I'm working on a CMSB record that I can become easily distracted or am multi-tasking and accidentally navigate elsewhere in CMSB before saving the record I'm editing. I am sure many of my clients experience the same and lose hours of carefully typed entries.

What I'm envisioning is a plugin that could be assigned on a per-editor basis to either provide a prompt to save/not save when leaving an unsaved record that has had any changes made. (i.e. jumping to another menu tab in CMSB or closing out the active browser window). If no changes are made to any of the fields, the prompt would not appear.

I've made good use of the 'Add Apply Button' plugin (https://www.interactivetools.com/add-ons/add-apply-button/), but that takes a conscious effort to remember to click the button.

May not be doable and just an idea for those of you who create plugins.

Did this plugin eventuate?  Would be keen to try it.

Hi Tim,

I don't think this plugin ever got built, there are a number of jquery plugins that do this though:

In database terms "dirty" means "out of sync with the database".
