Force a field to lower case

Ok, you may be able to use the CMSB "unique" setting in the field editor for case-insensitive checking on the backend and PHP's strtolower() on the frontend to display the values.  Or maybe a small plugin that adds some jquery code to the footer in the CMS that lowercases that's field content on change (or keyup).   In any case, I'll leave it with you, I know you've got a more advanced setup.
