Permissions error

Hello,
The only way I can get cmsb running correctly (so that I can write data to the section editors) is to have my folders CHMOD to 777. This is clearly a security risk so I am wondering how I can reduce the folder permissions to 775 or 755 and still run cmsb properly.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Generally, folders can be set to 755 and files to 666.
And often, when installing I don't even change permissions at all.
Can you try the settings above and see if the worts for you?
Also, does the host have any specific requirements for permissions and users that set permissions?
Is your FTP user, the owner of the folders and files?

Hi Damon,
Thank you for the reply.
I am using a Bitnami AWS Debian server but when I set up the folder/file permissions as 755/666 respectively I receive a permissions error when trying to use the section editors.
My username is "bitnami" and this account owns the folders/files.
I may need to check on the Bitnami forums...
Regards,
Greg
