Limiting User Abilities

There may be a way to do this that I have not yet found.  

When I have a user that is a Author and Viewer, they can only see their records.

Is there a way to remove the "change" link for the created by for a non admin user?

It would be nice if we could hide the "erase" link for non admin users.

If there is a way to do these things, please point me in that direction.
