_dotEnvPath how to use?

In CMSB v 3.76 change log, it says "- Settings _dotEnvPath key introduced for optionally storing DB and Mail credentials in .env.php file outside of web root"
I do not see anywhere in the interface where we can set this value or how to use it. Some clarity would be appreciated. Documentation would be useful.

Hi Jeff,
Great that you spotted that! Yes, we're working on that feature. The very next beta release has a .env.example.php file with inline documentation. So we'd love to have you try that and provide any feedback.
It does work now, but we've almost got another beta ready with better support, so I'd wait for that one to try it.
Sometimes we soft-launch features and try them out for a bit before we promote them more widely.
