Files outside folder

I have two questions about installing CMS Builder on a non-linux/unix webhotel.

1. When installing CMS Builder, all files are inside a folde. Is it possible to keep it this way, but still have all the pages outside this folder? My hosting provider can only give me full rights to a specific folder in my webhotel, where I have to install “the machinery of my site”, but I would like to have the pages to be like www.webpage.com/index.php and not www.webpage.com/folder/index.php. Is this possible?

2. Also my webhotel does not have the PHP 'mbstring' extension. I have asked my hosting provider to install it. But if he can’t do that, is it possible to make CMS Builder working properly without this extension?

Hi einslistir,

If you're hosted at Inforce it seems that they're pretty expensive for what you're (not) getting.

If this is the only site that you're working with, or even if not, you might want to think of switching.

Many of us can give you solid and inexpensive alternative suggestions. $100 per year with 3 free domain registrations, unlimited traffic and excellent support is about average.

That said, you can probably place the files anywhere you want to, as long as the domain points to that folder.

Don't know about the second question.

All in all this might be a good time to switch to a host without these kinds of restrictions. Your Domain is (usually) a separate account owned by you or your client. Even if the hosting company set up that account for you, you can still own the domain if you switch away from the hosting company..

Just my two cents.
