Auto Backup Question

Hi All,

In Auto Backup Version 1.0, by default, backups are kept for 3 time periods. Daily backup for 3 days, Weekly backup for 3 weeks,. and monthly backups for three months. These default values can be modified by changing the code.

How has this changed in Version 1.01 and how are the hourly backups handled?

Thanks,

Jerry Kornbluth

Hi Jerry,

you can find the changelog at the bottom of the page:
http://www.interactivetools.com/add-ons/detail.php?Auto-Backup-1003

New in Version 1.01
- Automatic hourly backups are now supported (up to 24 per day)
- Email Backups: Enter your email address to receive automatic backups via email
- Email Backups: Email backup files will automatically be compressed if supported by your server

So basically there is now a forth time period (hourly) and now you can have backups emailed to you. If you've previously purchased just click download to get the latest version.

Hope that helps! Let me know any additional questions.

Re: [Dave] Auto Backup Question

Hi Dave,

I guess I really wanted to know how many hourly backups are saved by default, and if that number is changeable as well.

Has the default remained at 3 saved for the other categories?

Thanks

Hi Jerry,

It's pretty easy to use, I'd recommend giving it a try and experimenting a little bit so you really get the hang of it.

But yes, that's basically the new info.

Hope that helps!

The time it toke me to figure out for myself what you have just mention, I would have been save the bell. Literally. I am running 3 hard drives and the back up some how... got ruined, I found file in one hard drive that belonged to on another. I was frustrated. I was never one to follow aesthetics. Thanks i find it insightful
