I tried it on the official tinymce page (http://www.tinymce.com/tryit/full.php) and got the same error.

I get a similar problem on my own cmsbuilder built pages.

Do you get this error when using any other browser? Does it happen when you try to insert any image?
Let us know and we can take a look at it.

I never actually get to the point where I'm prompted to browse for a file to upload. That is, no file dialogue comes up at all.
This is the error I get on the current site I"m working on:

I tested out the wysiwyg field using IE Tester to simulate IE8. I tried this on a local install of CMS Builder and a tiny mce demo page. I wasn't able to re-create this issue. Do you have more than 1 CMS Builder installation? If so, do you encounter this error on all of them?
The quickest fix would be to either upgrade IE or use another browser. If you need to use IE 8, you can fill out a 2nd Level Support Request and we can try looking into this issue further.

Re: [Jason] explorer 8 error inserting wysiwyg image
Yeah, it happens on all my cmsbuilder installations through many versions right up to 2.07. They're all with the same hosting company, so I'm wondering if that might be the source of the problem.
While hardly panicking, since I think it's far more important for the actual site to be working with explorer 8 rather than the back end, I was wondering if any other cmsbuilder users had experienced this same error (just in case it was something I was doing). If it's something that can be easily fixed it'd be worth it for me.

Interesting. Things have a tendency to only be broken in one specific version of IE these days and it can defintiely be tricky to narrow down. If the error also occurs on the actual Tiny MCE site, it will likely end up being something they need to fix and then we roll into an updated version of CMS Builder.
What I'll get you to do though is send through a support request and we'll see if we can re-create the problem locally and find a way to fix it.
Here's the support request form:

Thanks!
