Forum software recommendations, please

I'm looking for recommendations for easy to use, free discussion forum software, please. I'm not a very accomplished developer, so something that's easily installed would be useful, too.

I've just checked in on this, and development is still underway. We are hoping to begin beta testing this plugin in about 2 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have anything like a feature list for this, something I can use to try and sell the concept to a prospective client?

I've essentially got to get a proposal to them this week and it would be really useful to be able to put something in there about the forum.

Hi Paul,

We are looking at pretty simple functionality for a first release.

Here's the functionality we are currently looking at:

-flat threaded posts,
-polls,
-email notifications,
-admin users,

Do you have a better idea of when you might be releasing the beta version of the forum software yet?

I have a customer who's really keen on this so I told them I'd get back to them in a couple of weeks so they're looking for an update from me.
