Forum software recommendations, please

I'm looking for recommendations for easy to use, free discussion forum software, please. I'm not a very accomplished developer, so something that's easily installed would be useful, too.

Hi Nigel,

There are quite a few different forum scripts out there. I'm not sure about ease of implementation on any of them. Does anyone else have any experience with 3rd party forum scripts?

I'm not sure what you're timeline is like for implementing this, but we are currently working on a forum plugin that we're hoping to have a beta of soon. It was announced in our latest newsletter:

I've just checked in on this, and development is still underway. We are hoping to begin beta testing this plugin in about 2 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have anything like a feature list for this, something I can use to try and sell the concept to a prospective client?

I've essentially got to get a proposal to them this week and it would be really useful to be able to put something in there about the forum.

Hi Paul,

We are looking at pretty simple functionality for a first release.

Here's the functionality we are currently looking at:

-flat threaded posts,
-polls,
-email notifications,
-admin users,
