Hi, cmsBuilder team
I am a web designer. I can handle HTML code.
I have used cmsBuilder for many years(over 6 years) and have many cmsBuilder licenses(7 around).
Here are some feedback.
===============================================
1)
===============================================
The cmsBuilder script is a great idea.
But It hard to understand the "CMS Builder Documentation" sometimes.
It more like textbook in school.
There are many features on new version.
I cannot find a official simple tutorials file for checking.
===============================================
2)
===============================================
Why not release some basic code?
There are many basic code on internet.
contact form, site search engine, FAQs with javascript, shopping cart etc..
I tried to read document and to create Search engine by myself recently.
Got nothing.
You guys don't need to be a teacher on forum to teach buyer every time.
Why not just write a simple code tutorial. It would be real cool only few steps to get it.
We like cmsbuilder. not a lesson in school.

3)

Many issues still need request pay support. OK.
I remember I can appoint a team guru for support before.
but now it seems cannot do it.

I know all of you are busy.
but hope the forum reply can be in solution not in question.
No one want to wait for 2-3 working day. get below message
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This would be a custom request. Please email consulting@interactivetools.com, we'll get you sorted out.

than one day later.
CMSB Cookbook http://www.thecmsbcookbook.com (other textbook to me)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting for many days for nothing... It is not a good idea.

I like cmsBuilder very much.
I hope cmsBuilder is a really simple script to understand.
Hope it can really help us.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Jac,
Thanks for your feedback.
We've been talking about different ideas to help people get up to speed with CMSB quicker, such as a documentation wiki, or a sample site with content that came with CMSB, or more tutorials, but right now what we have are the online docs and the forum.
But because of the way CMSB works, how it lets you create anything, there's an unlimited number of things people are going to want to build with it, and we can't help everybody. A contact form or shopping cart, for example, aren't things that CMS Builder does, even though people have built those using CMSB as a foundation. Really what they're doing is custom PHP programming, and using CMSB to speed it up.
So CMSB is designed to help non-programmers do a lot of what used to be possible for only programmers, and then for the really advanced stuff, to make it easier for programmers or people learning PHP to do.
The simple code tutorial you want is any code tutorial is any tutorial on PHP or MySQL. CMS Builder just automates a lot of the basics so you don't have to know much about it, but as you get more advanced (as you probably are after building sites for 6 years) that's the next step. When we say we can do it through consulting in the forum, what we're basically saying is that unfortunately CMSB doesn't have that feature built in and the next step is to code it yourself or hire someone to do it.
But I do appreciate your feedback, and we will give it some thought as to how to make things simpler as we continue to add features.
Thanks!
