My Account
Every logged-in user has a My Account link at the top of the CMS Admin navigation (shown under a My Account group in the mobile menu). It opens an edit form for the user’s own account record, available even to users with no access to the User Accounts section.
Compared to the User Accounts editor, My Account is limited to editing the current user’s record. There is no account list, no advanced actions, and no way to create or erase accounts. Only fields flagged for My Account are displayed and saved; by default that is Full Name, Email, Username, and the password fields below. Admin-only fields such as Admin Access and Section Access are not included.
To show a custom account field in My Account, edit the field in the Field Editor and check Show this field in “My Account” section. This option only appears for fields in the User Accounts section.
Password Fields
Section titled “Password Fields”In place of the single Password field, My Account shows three fields:
- Current Password
The user’s existing password, required to authorize the change.
- New Password
The password to change to.
- New Password (again)
The new password a second time, to confirm it was typed correctly.
All three fields start blank. Leaving them blank keeps the current password; filling in any of them makes all three required. New passwords must match, cannot be the same as the username, cannot start or end with spaces, and are rejected if they appear in a list of common passwords. Changing the password does not log the user out.
